By the grace of Almighty, United Group is already a trusted name in the power sector of the country. Commitment is the magic word it has been pursuing to enrich its success inventory in the power sector. As of now, the Group is contributing more than 500 MW to boost the country’s overall power generation capacity. In its new endeavor, United Group stepped into a private-public joint venture with Ashuganj Power Station Company Ltd (APSCL), a public enterprise and one of the power hubs of the country. This is a sheer recognition of the Group’s performance by the Government in power generation sector.
The new project, United Ashuganj Energy Ltd (UAEL), was inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday, 20 July 2013. Dr Taufiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury, BB (Honourable Advisor to the Prime Minister), State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources M Enamul Huq, State Minister for Law Quamrul Islam, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power and Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry M Subid Ali Bhuiyan were present, among others.
UAEL is a Natural Gas Fired Combined Cycle Modular Power Plant located at Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria with generation capacity of 200 MW. UAEL is a joint venture between APSCL and United Enterprises & Company Ltd (UECL). The estimated project cost is USD 170 Million and estimated project completion time is 15 months. The project will begin its commercial operation by end the end of December 2014 In Sha Allah.
